An Urgent Message from Portside: Save the Internet

The Internet is disruptively democratic. The Internet is the
greatest and most accessible aggregation of knowledge -- by
orders of magnitude -- in human history. Though some
governments attempt to censor it, the Internet is a
tremendous force of citizen empowerment, a realm of free
expression and organization. The Internet is a harbinger of
a political spring -- a more humane and democratic future
and an instrument of speeding its arrival.

Until now.

Two bills before the U.S. Congress -- SOPA and PiPa, each
with bipartisan support, would strike at the heart of
Internet freedom.

Today, thousands of Internet sites are blacked out or
otherwise protesting these bills and urging visitors to join
in the protest.

This is the only message you will get from Portside today,
because the most important message we have to send today is:
Join the protest.
