GJ - Jonathan Shapiro on Perfidia -- A Healthy Serving of Ellroy

January 26, 2015
Los Angeles Review of Books
Johnathan Shapiro calls James Ellroy's new novel "a blood-soaked, amphetamine-fueled descent into Hell, circa December 7, 1941." The novel, he says "is a credible origin myth about the interconnected circles of political corruption, land speculation, racial inequality, police brutality, and general, free-floating cruelty that created modern Los Angeles."
